                REFLECTION WRITING

When I was new at point england school I had received a chromebook for the year to use to do work.Having the opportunity to have a chromebook was a huge experience for me.It really helped me to imrove in my learning and others as well.

The special thing that I learnt this year from my teacher was to work hard and communicate with others.The key things that my teacher has taught me this year was to do the best you can,try your best and to be the best you can .My teacher for 2013 was Miss King.

I have learnt a few things which are:

-How to take care of my chromebook

-The point england way

-Be a role model

-Treat others respectfully(especially elders)

-Be honest

And also to be kind to others that are around you.

I have learnt many things from my family which was to be humble,to listen to your teacher,Show some manners,help out,don't be cocky,sharing is caring(NOT LUNCH) and I have made many connections around the world by our blogs for the past few years.

I have helped out other people by teaching them new things that they have not known.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela was a man who thought against the white people in south africa.Nelson Mandela wanted equality writes between the white and black people.

Nelson Mandela was born on July 8 1918.Nelson Mandela was born at Mvezo in Transkei. He attended a primary school near Qunu.When nelson had finished his 8 years of primary intermediate he spent another 5 years at Wesleyan College at Fort Beaufort.A few years later nelson had been expelled for being naughty.

Nelson was a good man that thought for his people.He was a very well known man who took part in the apartheid against the white people government.Years later nelson had escaped an arranged marriage.Nelson had married a woman name Evelyn Ntoko Mase,they had four children.

Years later Nelson had been arrested for treason against the white people.He was in prison for 27 years.It was really difficult for nelson because he had no one to talk for his life in prison.He was taking to Robbin island and then transported to Howick.

Nelson was finally released from jail in 1990,but he still thought against the white people for equality rights aka white and black people.A few more years later Nelson had past away.

What I learnt from nelson Mandela was to treat other people respectfully weather they are the same color as you or not.Treat others the way how you would like to be treated

My name is Jordan and I am a year 8 at Point England School. My life at Point England School was when I first came to Point England School in 2013. My First teacher in Point England School was Miss King.

                                                                                                     

On Term 4 we had to do a Film for Manaiakalani Film Festival and all about What in the World is going?. It is held at Sylvia park. In 2013 on Term 4, our topic was about What in the World is going? It was about what is happening around the world and what is going on. On Term 4 we had to do a Film for Manaiakalani Film Festival and here is the Film Festival from 2013.

Now in 2013, This is my last year at Point England School. I am in Room 15 with Miss King. I really enjoy Half a year at Point England School. It was so fun and exciting.

Jordan Writing Sample November 2013

Once upon a time there was a deadly whisper,a whisper that everyone was afraid of.This whisper had been around for many,many years and generations.One day a couple was searching for a new home for them and children David and Charlie.The day after that they decided that they would go for a drive around the city and seek for a new home to purchase.The family had been driving around hours and hours so decided to throw in the towel and headed back to the motel.

The next day the sun had come up,and the family had woken up.The mother yelled out to the family”Come on guys its saturday morning lets go and check if there are houses for sale today.As they were driving around the place david sees a group of people crwding aroud this beautiful looking household so tellls his mother about it.So the mother pulls over and goes and has a look,and what do you know there is a house that is for sale.

It was an auction.A few moments later the mother had won the auction,and was very excited about the new home that they are going to stay in.The mother had bought the new house for $33.000.

She was so excited she went and told the good news to the family.The family had shifted all their furniture and other stuff of the motel and into their new beautiful place that they can finally call home.The family were so tired they went to bed.

As the parents were tucking their children into bed the father hears a strange but  a  loud whisper coming from the basement saying “HELP ME”,So he quickly went to check it out.Slowly the father opens the door feeling scared and nervous at the same time he walks down the steps”BOOM!!!” the door shuts right in his face and down he goes down the steps,the father tries to yell for help but he was too late.He hears the whisper and knows its to late the whisper whispers and..To be continued...

Thanksgiving Wrting

Thanksgiving day is a holiday celebrated in United States on the fourth 
Thursday in November. It has been an annual tradition since 1863, during the civil war, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of “Thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent father who dwelleth in the Heavens”,to be celebrated on Thursday,November 26.

As a federal and popular holiday in the U.S,Thanksgiving is one the major holidays of the year.Together with Christmas and new year,Thanksgiving is a part of the broader holiday season.The event that Americans commonly call the “First Thanksgiving”was celebrated by the Pilgrims after the first harvest in the New world war in 1621.

The feast lasted three days,and was attended  by about 53 Pilgrims and 90 American Indians.The New England colonists accustomed to regularly celebrating “Thanksgivings day of prayer thanking God for blessings such as military victory or the end of a drought.

On a early sunny Saturday morning,Saturday 13th September 2010 it was time.
Today was the day for 2 competitive teams to go head to head in the semi finals.
Mount Wellington Vs Manurewa Marlings.

As the referee blew the whistle for the first half the ball goes flying in the air from one side of the field to the other.”SLAP”the ball lands right into my hands and off I ran straight to the first 2 players I see.”BOOM”goes down the first player than the second,still running fully on the burst.”NEK MINUTE”I get tackled from behind and on the ground I go,seeing all the forwards drive over the ruck and retrieving the ball.

As time slipped by the whistle finally blew for half time.With only a short amount of break time our coach gives us a few tips on defense and attacking.

“BOTH TEAMS BACK ON THE FIELD FOR SECOND HALF”.The ref blew the whistle for second half “BOOM” goes the ball flying in the air once again,hoping that the ball will come to me again,but no it goes straight to the fullback.”SLAP”the ball lands in his hands and of he goes.He fends one,fends two,steps one then gets caught from behind and down he goes on the ground.as time goes by with only 30 seconds left on the clock the halfback gives a short ball to the number 8 then gets tackled,20.The half back gives a long ball to the wing he steps one and hes of 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3 passes the ball to me and I bump the fullback off worrying about the time 2,1”TRY”!!!!!!!! the whole team ran on the field full of excitement.Looking at my coaches face seeing tears rushing down from his face and had a big smile on his face.The final score was 40-33 it was a very close game.We were through to the finals.

This morning we did a 40 minute writing.

My Rainbow Warrior

Rainbow Warrior (BOMBING)

On July 16th 1985 french spies arrived at Auckland harbour. on the rainbow warrior boat the director of the anti nuclear movement was celebrating his 29th birthday.

meanwhile 2 men , wearing scuba gear,were underneath in the water planting the bomb while the man was celebrating his 29th birthday on the ship.

BOOM!!! off the first bomb went. The explosion of the bomb had people screaming and crying.    “ABANDON SHIP,ABANDON SHIP”!!!,the captain  yelled .Everyone  jumped of the ship into the cold icy water.While the people were screaming for help the 2 people that had been waiting for the two men ,had try to escape but they got caught and had got arrested .The boat had carried 25 kgs of explosives it was more than enough for the boat to sink,and to kill the man himself Fernando Pereira.

Fernando Pereira,The greenpeace photographer had died on the ship.

The 2 spies had been taken to jail for the death of Fernando Pereira Dominique Prieur,Alain Mafart .The 11 french spies remained to stay in jail for another two years but were supposed to stay for another 7 years in  jail .Only 1 person had been killed in the explosion the rest had survived.

My Son Is Naughty

Jack and Ray were at the rugby. Ray’s team was winning 
so Jack decided to give Ray a problem to deflate his ego a 
bit. So Jack said “Did you know that today is my three 
sons’ birthday?” “How old are they?” Ray asked taking 
the bite. “I’ll give you a hint. The product of their ages is 
36 and the sum of their ages is 13,” Jack replied. “That’s 
no help,” said Ray. So Jack weakened and gave him 
another clue. “O.K. My youngest son is very naughty.”
“Nothing to it,” exclaimed Ray and he told Jack the 
correct ages of his sons.

Restaurant Problem Solving

 The Pizza Place in my town has three tables of the same size. The Chicken N Chips restaurant has four of the same sort of table. The Chicken N Chips can just seat 24 people. How many people can The Pizza Place seat? Now a third of the seats at The Chicken N Chips were empty and a half of the places at The Pizza Place were empty. If 18 more people wanted to eat out, how many would have to be turned away from the two restaurants?

Movie reflection

I liked Maxs movie because he had different types of angle shots and there movie was funny and entertaining.I also liked the movie because they timed there lip sinking during the song and they made the audience laugh.
